Coming to Hanoi in March. Looking to take a 1-2 night cruise to Halong Bay then come back to Hanoi. I'm a single traveler looking for a a mid range to possibly luxury cruise depending on price. Would prefer a cruise with other single travelers rather than families if possible. What would you recommend? Are transfers included with any of the cruises or are they always separate?

I went to Vietnam last year. Ha Long is a beautiful city that you should not miss when coming to Vietnam. There are many hotels here, but you should ask the price before coming. I was staying at the White crown hotel. It is very clean and quiet , good price . You should book through their Facebook Fanpage.

@Natasa A private 7-seater car will cost about US$ 130/car/way. For the Limousine van, please note that it can only pick you up in the Old Quarter so you will need to take a taxi to the center for the bus. The ticket costs US$ 25/ticket/way.  It takes around 2,5-hour transfer to Halong and you may have one stop on the way.

Frequently asked questions

1. How much does it cost to transfer by a luxury Limousine?

Transferring to Halong Bay in a luxury limousine is pricier than the shuttle bus, which averages 1,200,000-1,400,000 VND per person for a round trip in 2025. Note that this service features an enhanced Ford Transit with leather seats and TV. It offers greater comfort compared to the standard bus, justifying the higher cost.

2. Is it possible to take a day trip to Halong Bay?

A day trip to Halong Bay remains a top choice in 2025. With round-trip tickets available via shuttle bus, luxury limousine, or cruise company transport, you can reach Halong Bay in approximately 3 hours. Once there, various routes and day cruises offer exceptional itineraries to major attractions. Popular options include Phoenix Day Cruise, L'Azalée Day Cruise, Orchid Day Cruise, Jade Sails, Genesis Day Cruise, and Estella Premium Day Cruise.

3. What is the fastest way to reach Halong Bay from Hanoi?

For road transfers in 2025, shuttle buses and private cars are still the quickest ways to Halong Bay via direct routes. If you're looking for a unique experience and have the budget, consider taking a seaplane from Noi Bai International Airport to Halong City, which now offers enhanced services.

4. Should I book the transfer directly with car companies or through tourist agencies?

Booking with travel agencies is strongly advised in 2025 as it often results in better rates, special offers, and reliable support. Direct bookings may incur higher costs, and reaching car service providers during emergencies can be challenging without agency assistance.
