Location
Situated approximately 2 kilometers southwest of Ti Top Beach, Me Cung Cave can be found on Lom Bo Island. Archaeological findings indicate that this cave is one of the oldest in Halong Bay, with evidence of human habitation dating back 7,000 to 10,000 years. The cave reaches a height of 25 meters above sea level and extends about 100 meters in length.
Narrowest Cave
Me Cung Cave, also known as the Maze, ranks among the narrowest caves in Halong Bay. Its entrance presents a very tight opening, allowing only one person to enter at a time. Inside, the chambers are small and narrow, yet they exude a sense of elegance and charm. The cave features a complex structure made up of multiple levels and chambers.
As you navigate through Me Cung Cave, you may notice a faint light in the distance, signaling that the exit is approaching. Upon exiting, you will encounter rough stone steps leading to the top, where a breathtaking vista awaits. A large lake, known as Me Cung Lake, reveals itself, surrounded by stunning mountains. Adjacent to the lake lies an area known as the "Royal Garden," which is home to numerous ancient trees.
In recent years, renovations have improved accessibility for tourists while ensuring that all historical and scientific features remain preserved.
